Team owner, Marc A. Miceli decides to change the team name to MIAMI KICKERS F.C. Miceli says, " I have decided to change the name of the team from The Ft. Lauderdale Fusion F.C. to the MIAMI KICKERS F.C. in order to give the team a logistic distance between other WPSL Franchises in Florida and to set us apart from previous teams in the Miami and South Florida area. Miami is associated with the glamour and life style of Florida and there is an attraction of a vast number of players to player here. My intent with the help of my support staff is to start a legacy that will develop and nurture young to seasoned players in Florida and raise the level of play on the pitch."
